Willis Tower, record-breaking skyscraper

Built in 1973 by architect Bruce Graham and first known as the “Sears Tower”, the Willis Tower is one of the most iconic skyscrapers in Chicago.

At 442 meters high and with 108 floors, the Willis Tower lorded over the world's skyscrapers for 25 years before being dethroned by the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

It remained the highest in the US before being recently surpassed by One World Trade Center in New York. Despite the fact that the supersonic elevators will bring you to the top in seconds, be sure to stop at the Skydeck on the 103rd floor, for one of the best views of Chicago. You can also enjoy the stunning view from The Ledge, four glass cubes that project out of the tower, giving one the illusion of floating in space.
