Head to Beit Sitti, literally ‘Grandmother's House' to learn the secrets of the local cuisine. In this 1950s home, fully restored in the style of the epoch, the owners provide cooking classes. The atmosphere is casual in the retro kitchen, which is filled with vintage furniture. The three-hour classes are led by chefs who are experts in Jordanian, Palestinian, or Iraqi cuisine. You will learn to prepare a full traditional meal—mezze, salads, main course, and dessert—all of which you get to tuck into at the end of the half day. You can choose between several options, including one that visits the market and another that focuses on pastry making. Courses are offered almost daily, either individually or in groups. Booking is required, the day before at the latest.
