Chateau Marmont: a cult address

Chateau Marmont: a cult address

A heritage building in Los Angeles, this imposing 1920s hotel boasts a life of stardom.

With its contagious charm, the Chateau Marmont has been the scene of much merriment and tragedy, all of which is recorded in one of the most star-studded guestbooks in America.

The ultimate is to spend the night in one of the garden cottages next to the pool, some of which are reserved year-round by a who's who of cinema. Don't think, though, that you can just roar up to them on your motorcycle, like Led Zeppelin did. While the stunt impressed guests, it wreaked havoc in the lobby.

James Dean tried to climb the facade and Jim Morrison jumped off the roof, but you, however, can still find plenty of other less 'adventurous' things to do. Like meet at the famous hotel bar for a drink or dinner. With its elegant and festive atmosphere, and its bevy of Hollywood stars, reservations are, of course, strongly recommended.
