Kema Sakuranomiya Park, in the shade of cherry blossoms

In the spring, Kema Sakuranomiya Park is the perfect place to watch cherry trees bloom while strolling along the Okawa River.

In the land of the rising sun, cherry blossoms—Sakura in Japanese—attract thousands of curious onlookers every year. Indeed, spring, with its flowering trees, offers an extraordinary sight that must be seen at least once in one's lifetime. Osaka offers many remarkable spots to admire the cherry blossoms. Among them is Kema Sakuranomiya Park, which runs several kilometres along the Okawa River, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places.

At the beginning of April, when the 4,700 or so cherry trees bloom, the park is invaded by tourists and residents of Osaka. It is certainly difficult to move, but the show is absolutely unique. The rest of the year, the park is more serene and you will be surrounded by walkers and joggers who come to enjoy the coolness of the park to relax.
