Discover the National Pinacotheca

The Pinacotheca is the largest museum in Emilia-Romagna. It offers visitors a retrospective of Italian art, especially from the Bologna region from the 13th to the 18th century.

pays tribute to the numerous artists of the region with a particularly comprehensive collection of works. Two steps away from the university, it offers more than 30 exhibition areas, ordinated by school and era.

The collection has been considerably enriched over the years thanks to various donations. You will therefore be able to admire works by the Carracci brothers Agostino and Annibale, as well as their cousin Lodovico, the three of them Bolognese painters who will later influence Nicolas Poussin. Artists of the Baroque movement like Domenichino and Guercino are also represented.

Besides the permanent collection and the various temporary exhibitions held each year, the museum houses the Academy of Fine Arts and offers playful activities that will delight your little ones.
