Declare missing baggage online
Depending on your arrival airport, you have 2 options to signal a baggage delay: online, within 48 hours of your arrival; or at baggage service before leaving the airport.

Declare missing baggage at the airport
Please alert AIR FRANCE KLM* Baggage Service of the baggage delay at your arrival airport as soon as possible.
We will issue a document (entitled "Property Irregularity Report - PIR") that you must fill out before leaving the airport. You will then receive a file number. Please keep it to track your request.

Claims on necessity purchases
Did you make necessity purchases* (such as personal hygiene products or clothing) because your baggage was late? You have 21 days from the date of your baggage´s return to submit a reimbursement request via the
online declaration form

Tracking file progress
You can track the progress of your file online using the
World Tracer
tool or by contacting
your arrival airport´s baggage service
, which is responsible for handling your baggage file. When your baggage is located, we then contact you to arrange for delivery.
What to do if your baggage is not found
- If we do not locate your baggage within 2 or 3 days following your arrival, please fill out the inventory form that was provided to you when your baggage file was created at the airport. Once completed, please return it by mail to Air France Baggage Service .
- You can also fill out the PDF version of the inventory form , which is available online.
- If your baggage has not been located after 21 days, customer service in your country of residence will contact you directly.
- You can also contact customer service in your country or residence at any time.
Compensation for lost baggage
If despite all efforts your baggage is not found, Air France can offer compensation. According to the
Montreal convention
, this compensation can be paid up to approximately €1,130*. To obtain this compensation, please complete the
online claim form
If you have already completed an online declaration form for the loss of your baggage, please indicate the file number that you received.
Otherwise, we will provide you with a tracking number to keep.
You can also contact customer service in your country of residence.
Please note: when checking in baggage, you can make a special declaration if the value of your property exceeds the maximum compensation provided (€1,130*). Depending on the difference, you will be compensated at its true value in case of loss.
