YOUR CHILD'S JOURNEY STEP BY STEP

Find out more about your child's journey by clicking on each of the steps below.
You can book your child's ticket online for all flights operated by Air France. For children aged between 4 to 11 years who live and are traveling in metropolitan France, you can also book using our mobile site. At the moment of booking the ticket, please let us know that your child is traveling alone. You will then need to complete an online form: an "unaccompanied minor" form.

Visas, passport, vaccinations, entry regulations... Before your child's departure, check the entry and travel requirements for your child's journey.
To avoid last-minute stress, complete the "unaccompanied minor" form online. You will need to provide this at the moment of checking in. You can download it during the booking process, or from this page.

Please print several copies of the travel documents before going to the airport. The number of copies to print depends on the number of flights your child is taking:
  • Flight with no connections: 2 copies
  • Flight with 1 connection: 3 copies
  • Flight with more than 1 connection: 4 copies

It is not possible to modify the pre-filled form at the moment of booking. If you need to make a correction, please download the template below, complete it and print it out.
À noter :
  • Is your child traveling on a flight operated by our partner Delta? You do not need to complete an "unaccompanied minor" form. We will provide you with a specific form to complete at the airport.
  • Is your child traveling to the United States? He or she must provide a customs declaration form upon arrival.
Download and complete the declaration form
  • Any passenger under 18 years old, whether he or she is a French citizen or a foreigner living in France, must obtain authorization to leave the country for any journey outside France.

For children traveling alone, please check in:

  • 30 hours before departure, in the "Check-in" section of the website. You will receive a check-in confirmation document, which you must present at the check-in counter.
  • On the day of your child's departure, at the check-in counter, at least 30 minutes before the Check-In Deadline for his or her flight.

Please check in any baggage that your child is not able to carry alone.

At the check-in counter, we will let you know where and when our staff will come to collect your child. At the expected time, an Air France member of staff will accompany him or her to the aircraft.

Please wait for the SMS message confirming takeoff before leaving the airport. If the flight is canceled, we may return your child to you to wait for the new flight. The person or people picking the child up at destination will also receive an SMS message with a new estimated time of arrival.

New feature: Track the main steps of your child's journey in real time in the Air France app and share it with the person picking up your child at destination!

The cabin crew will take special care to make sure your child is comfortable and safe. On international flights, your child can enjoy games, movies, cartoons, magic trick tutorials and even meditation programs for kids and adults alike. We will also bring gifts and treats to help him or her pass the time. It's even more fun on board than at home!
Does your child have a tablet or smartphone? Starting from 30 hours before the flight, download our range of magazines for young people in the Air France Press app.

At mealtimes? On all flights over 2 hours 30 minutes, we will serve your child a meal adapted to his tastes, and containing organic ingredients. For children aged 9 years or over, your child will be served an adult meal! If desired, your child may have a child's meal. This must be reserved at the moment of booking or at least 48 hours before the flight's departure.

Please make your child aware of the need to stay in the same seat during the flight and to stay seated at the moment of arrival, until a member of staff comes to collect him or her. This is especially important for teenagers.

For connecting flights, your child will be supervised by one of our staff at all times within the Air France areas. If the transfer lasts over 1 hour at Paris-Orly and over 2.5 hours at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, we have dedicated areas in which to welcome your child. Rest area, games room, library, cartoons, board games, table soccer... WiFi access is free of charge and Sony PS4 or PS Vita consoles are available for the kids!

Upon arrival, you child will be the last to leave the aircraft. One of our members of staff will accompany him or her until the designated pick-up person. This person will receive an SMS message with the estimated time of arrival of the aircraft. He or she must show an ID card or passport with a clear photo.

Time to reunite! Now's the time to take a photo with the child and send it to yourself in the Air France app!
